THERE is no Muslim women without jilbaab in Patani. Jilbaab is a kind of veil covered the head of Muslimah. This probably fits the spirit of these Muslim showed in the base region in South Thailand. At each corner of the street, we will meet many Muslim women wearing headscarves and even veils.
“The whole Muslim women wearing headscarves in Pattani, if women are not veiled, she is certainly Buddhists!” said Zakariya, a Human Rights Activist, to Islampos in Patani.
Although the stigma of Islam as terrorists waged, Patani Muslim women never remove the veil abstinence. In any event, the veil becomes an integral part for them.
