AN Imam at the Al-Muhajir Mosque, Buahbatu District, Bandung City, was spit on by a foreigner with the initials MBCAA (48) for reciting the murrotal Al-Qur’an. The Bandung Polrestabes stepped in to investigate the spitting case of the mosque imam.
Bandung Police Chief Kombes Pol Budi Sartono immediately visited the Al-Muhajir Mosque on Friday (28/4) evening. Budi and his staff immediately met the victim’s permanent imam at the Al-Muhajir Mosque, Muhammad Basri Anwar (24) to find out the chronology of this incident.

“Earlier we saw viral news on social media that there was a foreign national who committed an unpleasant act at a mosque in the Bandung area,” Budi told reporters after holding a meeting as reported by detikJabar, Saturday (29/4/2023).
“We immediately checked, the results of the provisional statement from the victim, have made an LP and we are currently asking for information,” added Budi.
Australian Caucasians
The permanent imam of Al-Muhajir Mosque Muhammad Basri Anwar (24) said, from information from the hotel, the foreigner was an Australian citizen. From the passport received by detikJabar, the perpetrator of the spitting at the imam of this mosque had the initials MBCAA and was 48 years old. The passport was made by the perpetrator in 2020 and will expire in 2030.
Basri said that the foreigner had already checked out of the hotel where he was staying. “Already checked out, earlier at 09.00 WIB,” he said. []
